The Short Order Cook prepares and cooks to order a variety of foods that require only a short preparation time by following recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving. The Short Order Cook may take orders from customers and serve patrons at counters or tables and cooks according to customer requirements maintaining quality at all times. He/She also tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records in order to accurately plan production requirements. In addition, the Short Order Cook may requisition supplies and equipment. The ideal Short Order Cook candidate has a minimum of one year training and/or experience and is responsible to:
Clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables
Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time
Grill, cook, and fry foods such as french fries, eggs, pancakes, etc.
Take orders from customers and cook foods requiring short preparation times, according to customer requirements
Grill and garnish hamburgers or other meats such as steaks and chops
Perform simple food preparation tasks such as making sandwiches, carving meats, and brewing coffee
Order and stock supplies
Accept payments and make change or write charge slips as necessaryEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
