The Barista is the central figure in our caf operations. He/She is polite, friendly, and professional at all times. The ideal Barista initiates dialogue and develops a rapport with our customers by making an effort to learn their names, favorite drinks, and food items. The Barista accurately processes food and beverage transactions through the point-of-sale and counts back change to customers, with a sincere 'thank you' followed by the customer's name. He/She answers the caf telephone in a friendly manner with a professional greeting. The Barista is also responsible for educating customers about our entire selection of premium coffees, teas, and menu items. The truly successful Barista enjoys meeting people; takes the time to get to know them; and takes pride in providing an outstanding level of service on a continuous basis. In addition to customer service duties, the Barista is also responsible to:
Follow all cash management policies and procedures to ensure accountability of funds
Practice and promote food safety at all times
Do what needs to be done without being asked
Takes ownership of process and quality improvement
Continuously improve job skills and knowledge
Maintain a clean and sanitary store environment
Perform other duties as assignedEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
