Job Description Pre-Opening Opportunity C ulture Duties Under the direction of the GM and/or the Director of Engineering, the Lead Maintenance Engineer performs preventive maintenance work that could involve the use and operation of complex and highly technical equipment and techniques, and manages vendor/ contractor relationships.
Performs work requiring an apprentice skill level of at least one of the following trades:
electrical, plumber, HVAC/refrigeration mechanic, kitchen/laundry mechanic, carpenter, painter, locksmith, in addition to performing other general maintenance duties.
Responsible for performance of all scheduled, preventive maintenance and emergency repairs for the hotel.
May work with hazardous materials and chemicals in the performance of duties.
Uses tools, equipment, materials and chemicals safely and efficiently according to manufacturer's instructions/MSDS requirements.
Notifies supervisor/ dispatcher as required upon completion of work assignments.
Completes appropriate records and documentation associated with work performed.
Makes minor repairs to equipment brought into the hotel.
May assist/ perform minor set-up duties for functions throughout the hotel and grounds.
Is completely familiar with Hotel Emergency procedures and able to respond quickly and accurately during any emergency situation that may arise.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certification, coursework, and or on the job training in engineering/ maintenance/ construction, or related field of study.
Strong mechanical background with minimum 3 years hands on experience in maintenance/ construction related activity, requiring apprentice level trade discipline responsibility.
Knowledge of inventory, tracking, and organizing stored material procedures.
Bi-lingual- Ability to read, write and speak English & Spanish fluently.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to bend, stoop and lift (up to 75 lbs.
) repetitively.
Guest service oriented and possess excellent hospitality skills.
Prefer someone who possess or is working towards their Journeyman certification.
Physical Requirements Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.

Requires the ability to walk, bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with guests.
Periodically immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions.
Occasional heavy work - Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Stand, sit, or walk around for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping down.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
