7K a year Celebrity School of Beauty is seeking an experienced Financial Aid Officer to assist in administering the school's financial aid programs, under the guidance of the Financial Aid Director.
A minimum of 1-year experience is required.
Primary
Responsibilities:
-Work cohesively with the admissions department.
-Supervise student accounts and ensure student payments are received on-time.
-Maintain student ledgers up-to-date.
-Advise students/parents on financial aid situations.
-Provide professional-level financial counseling to all students (and/or guardians) concerning grants, loans, payment plans and scholarships (as applicable) as well as other forms of aid.
-Negotiate payment plans and estimated methods of payment.
-Assist students/parents with the completion of the FAFSA and review the resulting ISIR.
Correct, update and clear all C codes and verification codes, as applicable.
-Calculate accurate budgets for students; package student (award) and monitor that aid to ensure all student accounts are paid in a timely manner.
-Responsible for complete and accurate files and paperwork.
-Certify loan records.
-Maintain consistently clean files in compliance with all applicable local, state, federal, accrediting and school standards.
-Complete the appropriate training modules as they become available and when applicable.
-Other duties as assigned by the School's Director of Financial Aid.
Reports to :
Financial Aid Director (FAD) and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Interacts with :
Student and parents, Admissions, Registrar, Fiscal, Financial Aid Director.
Requirements:
-Minimum of 1 year of working in a financial aid office or with financial aid programs.
-Current knowledge of the student financial aid programs.
-Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken/written) REQUIRED.
- Post secondary degree (Associate, Bachelor's) preferred.
