The Professional Land Surveyor (PS) will be responsible for performing advanced land surveying work predominately in an office role.
This individual will be expected to assist with the mentoring and coaching of survey staff, including boundary determination, pricing/scoping, quality assurance and quality control of surveying procedures, promoting active communication with other team members, and crew scheduling.
The PS is expected to have foundational knowledge of topographic, control/geodetic, construction staking, boundary/ROW determination, and ALTA surveying.
This candidate will report directly to the Ohio Survey Team Leader and will provide professional review of final survey deliverables.
This position is located in Miami, Florida.
Responsibilities:
Performs analysis for difficult/complex boundary surveys and prepares associated plats and boundary descriptions.
Performs advanced calculations involving field survey data.
Assists with the preparation of right-of-way plans and conducts QA/QC on said plans.
Prepares or reviews survey reports and legal descriptions.
Prepares scopes of work and estimates for survey projects.
Works with survey Team Leader to perform professional review of project deliverables.
Responsible for development of project quality control and quality assurance processes.
Provides technical expertise and leadership in the project definition and planning phases.
Provides subject matter expertise and act as a representative of the firm at various functions, as needed.
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor Degree and a minimum of 5 years industry experience Must have a Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper License.
Must be able to work with mathematical concepts appropriate for surveying (survey data reduction including level data, traverse data, and GNSS data) Must be able to occasionally travel overnight and work overtime as needed.
Must have above average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.
Trimble Business Center experience is highly desirable.
Experience using OpenRoads Designer MicroStation with GeoPak and/or OpenRoads is highly desirable.
AutoCAD experience is a plus.
GIS related experience is a plus.
Strong organizational, time management, attention to detail and analytical skills Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
