The Department of Microbiology & Immunology is currently seeking a Temporary/Part-Time Research Assistant to work in Miami.
The Research Assistant will maintain the mouse colonies and collaborate on our research program aimed to modulate beta cell biology and immunity in type 1 diabetes as well as understanding myelopoiesis in cancer host.
The chosen candidate will handle day to day operation, and help with the experimental set-up, data acquisition, and analysis.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS1.
Cleans, sanitizes, maintains, and operates laboratory equipment.
2.
Keeps records of research data and assists in analyzing it.
3.
Maintains inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies and places orders in a timely fashion.
4.
Proofreads and assists in the writing of manuscripts, grant proposals, and lab protocols.
5.
Prepares reports of experiment results.
6.
Performs research by completing simple experiments or steps in more complicated studies.
7.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
