Job Description:
This position coordinates and manages all financial aid programs, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations, policies, and procedures.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned by management:
Maintains current knowledge of federal and state policies, regulations, laws, and best practices in regard to student financial aid.
Monitors regulatory changes, evaluates impacts of such changes, communicates impacts to relevant departments and individuals, and coordinates response(s) to ensure compliance.
Develops and implements policies and procedures for the operation of student financial assistance programs in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Manages timely and accurate institutional and regulatory reporting requirements including:
IPEDS FISAP Direct loan and campus-based loan reconciliations and reporting requirements Auditor documentation requests Ensures that the communication and interaction between the financial aid office and related administrative service departments including admissions, student support services, registrar, and business offices is effective, clear, accurate, and concise.
Accomplish department/division objectives by supervising employees and monitoring their progress and performance.
Maintain departmental staffing by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities.
Develop employees within their roles via coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
Education:
Minimum
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution At least 3 years of experience working in a financial aid department of an accredited college or university with direct responsibility for advising on or awarding of Title IV activities or programs.
Knowledge of student grant, loan, and scholarship programs.
Strong background in compliance including audits.
Strong analytical skills, strong competence working with numbers, attention to detail, as well as effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of federal, State, and private financial aid regulations would be the main requirement for this position.
Self-motivated, strong work ethic and ability to handle and timely complete multiple tasks.
Ability to effectively manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
