As a Machinistyou will operate tool room equipment including engine lathes, mills, surface grinders and other equipment used in making tooling, parts and assist with equipment repairs as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Set up and run tool room equipment:
lathes, mills, etc.
:
these are old school manual machines Produce, repair, modify and maintain product tooling.
Inspect and document tools and product to ensure compliance to specifications.
Keep workplace clean and organized.
Other duties as instructed by the Manufacturing Manager.
Program and operate CNC tool room and specialized production machinery.
Assist with capital equipment decisions and purchases.
Working knowledge of tool steels, formable steels and heat treatment processes.
Qualifications:
Education and/or
Experience:
On the job experience for a minimum of 10 years in a machinist position.
High school diploma or equivalent at a minimum.
Completion of formal apprenticeship program or technical school is desirable.
CNC machining training is a bonus.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Spanish language skills are a bonus.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from shop floor personnel, engineering and management.
