While every day is different, responsibilities include writing/managing content for branding, public relations, marketing, communication, engagement and community relations strategies.
Platforms include internal and external communication, digital and print publications, social media, website, press releases, advertisements, institutional and emergency messaging, as well as.
Through strategic messaging, this position generates and fosters engagement, enthusiasm and emotional connection.
Responsibilities Writes relevant, useful, and conversational content, ensuring voice and messaging are consistent with the school's brand and writing standards Identifies, develops, and evaluates communication strategies based on knowledge of school objectives and market characteristics Coordinates or participates in strategic enrollment marketing, fundraising and promotional activities Writes engaging copy for the website, marketing and advertising campaigns, digital platforms, and print collateral with a marketing lens of recruitment and retention Collaborates with colleagues to edit/proof messaging developed by fellow departments.
Explores creative ways to deliver action-oriented content the user craves and continues to come back for through digital platforms, websites, lead generation and advertising campaigns, and inbound marketing Researches audiences to write to them directly so that the message is readily received Varies language and tone of messages based on product and medium Using proven creative concepts and storytelling skills, provides impeccable written short and long-form content and proactively adapts and identifies new opportunities Conceptualizes, writes, edits, and assists with production of multiple types of assets with varying scopes of work and competing timelines Works swiftly while ensuring accuracy and relevance Presents work effectively and efficiently Implements efficient, comprehensive approval process and revises based on collected feedback and input Proactively monitors, prioritizes and manages projects in project management platform Reacts quickly, efficiently and enthusiastically to quick-turn assignments Reviews and assists with determining benchmark metrics for assessing improvements in communications and outreach outcomes Reviews data that reflects the effectiveness of initiatives Recommends revisions to existing content plans and practices Fully collaborates with the marketing team, creating content Provides ongoing or on-demand status updates to the Director of Marketing Attends and supports school events as necessary or assigned Performs other duties as required or assigned Qualifications 2-3 years of work-related experience is required Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be proficient in AP Style Applies creative and compelling storytelling techniques, thinks big picture, is intellectually curious and enjoys collaborating with peers and colleagues Edits or rewrites existing copy as necessary to maintain fresh content on shared and owned channels Masters the English language - Knowledge of the structure and content, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar Knowledge of media production and production work environments, visual, verbal, and interactive communication, and dissemination techniques and methods Marketing growth mindset that is always sparking new ways to elevate skill sets Must be highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines Time Management - Proficient skills in managing one's own time and the time of others Detailed knowledge of current tools and advertising/marketing trends (creative and tech) Problem-solving, consensus-building High attention to detail Excellent project management skills Knowledge of marketing and advertising campaigns, performance marketing, digital marketing, and social media Understanding of trends, techniques and platforms related to creative content with a desire for continuous learning and professional development Understanding of advertising, social/digital media, design and pop-culture trends Must provide a writing portfolio of material that demonstrates excellence in advertising, digital marketing, web, and creative storytelling Proficient in Google suite (word, docs, sheets Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
