Doral Campus Job Overview:
We are seeking a Computer Science Teacher with in-depth knowledge of a variety of technologies and programming languages to teach coding courses at both the high school and middle school levels.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about teaching computer science and be committed to providing students with a strong foundation in coding concepts and skills that will prepare them for careers in technology.
By working with the other members of the Technology Department, the Computer Science Teacher will focus on the implementation of Divine Savior's vision of effective technology in the 6-12 curricular programs in a manner that reflects the mission and vision of the campus.
Responsibilities:
Teach computer science courses in various programming languages, such as Java, Swift, Python, and C++.
Develop and implement lesson plans that are engaging and challenging, and that align with the school's curriculum standards.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love of learning.
Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, including hands-on activities, group projects, and individual assignments.
Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work and progress and maintain accurate records of student grades and attendance.
Integrate technology into the classroom to enhance student learning and engagement.
Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in computer science education and adjust curriculum and instruction accordingly.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement cross-curricular projects and activities.
Provide guidance and support to students who are interested in pursuing careers in technology.
Participate in school-wide events and activities, including parent-teacher conferences,staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
Master's degree preferred.
At least three years of experience teaching computer science at the high school or middle school level.
In-depth knowledge of various programming languages, such as Java, Swift, Python, and C++.
Strong knowledge of a variety of technologies and their applications, including web development, mobile app development, and database management.
Ability to create engaging and challenging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and meet the needs of diverse learners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Passion for teaching computer science and for staying up-to-date with current trends and developments in the field.
Qualified or being willing to become qualified to teach AP computer science.
Understanding and able to teach web design, application development, digital photo and video editing, and other computer application processes.
Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that fosters a love of learning.
