1K a year Main Purpose of the Role:
To respond to rate requests and tenders in a timely manner and to ensure that deadlines are accomplished.
Knowledgeable in market rate trends in order to provide competitive rates to secure bookings from new and current customers via agents and maintain MMG.
Analyze customers' profitability and optimize vessel utilization.
Main Tasks:
? Accurately complete files provided by key accounts with best rates to include BAF, Bill of Ladings , etc.
ensuring deadlines are achieved as specified for each tender and global requests ? Provide the best transit time for moving cargo ? Provide pricing for lines and create formal quotes as requested ? Ensure email requests for rates received from shipping agents are responded to within a 24 hours timeframe ? Monitor emails to respond to high importance or urgent rate requests immediately, quoting with accuracy the best rates ? Prepare and respond to In-Gauge cargo requests ? Liaise with agents regarding market trends to secure bookings at the best rates ? Follow up with agents on rates quoted with agents or customers to know if rates are accepted and bookings secured ? Re-negotiates rates as required so as to secure bookings from customers ? Ensure rates re-negotiated are profitable by reviewing calculations in the ENT system ? Analyze and discuss rates with Line Manager and or Commercial Manager to secure bookings ? Create and distribute spreadsheet reports to each agency detailing the guidelines to include rates to quote offer for general merchandise ? Complies rate manual sections in accordance to government regulations, based on factors such as handling costs, classes of merchandise transported, fuel costs, refrigeration required, business volume, and potential return loads ? Analyzes proposals and applications for changes rates, rules, or regulators received from rate bureaus, shippers, sales offices and other carriers ? Coordinate trade campaigns to determine the need for segmentation of commodities or the need to increase market shares for particular port of loads ? Monitor allocations and model vessel' - on NOR /market basis in coordination with the respective areas ? Perform weekly NOR analysis Requirements:
First Degree 1-2 years' experience in pricing positions or equivalent is highly preferred.
Microsoft Office Suite ( Intermediate Level - Excel) Very good command of English Language (Reading, Writing, Speaking) Function:
