Miami, FL Miami, FL Full-time Full-time $26 - $30 an hour $26 - $30 an hour Construction Engineer ROADWAY Inspector - CEI Job Description A CEI Bridge/Roadway Inspector will be responsible for performing technical assignments in construction field layout, plans reading and interpretation, quantity review and engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Senior Inspector and/or Project Administrator.

Qualifications:
Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required High school graduate or equivalent plus two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection Or a Civil Engineering Degree and FE (or EIT) Certification with the ability to earn additional required Inspector qualifications with the initial year of employment CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I CTQP Pile Driving CTQP Drilled Shaft IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level ! CTQP Final Estimates Level I FDOT Intermediate MOT Nuclear Radiation Safety Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors Completion of the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course, and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form (for structures projects).
Ability to work in a team environment and execute assignments independently Position requires a minimum of 40 hours a week and possible overtime.
Execute specific tasks and assignments from the Senior Inspectors and/or Project Administrator during all phases of the project Construction Engineer Inspector - CEI Bridge/Roadway Inspector
Responsibilities:
Daily Work Report (DWR) of Contractor's field operations and inspections Electronic project ledger or field book preparation, update and documentation Density log book preparation and documentation Material sampling and testing Assist with preparation of the Final Estimates or project closeout package Measure distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of construction activity/layout Verify work levels, alignment, and elevation of construction activity/installations Observe and validate that workmanship, procedures and materials conform to plans and specifications Obtain and prepare material samples for laboratory testing Record quantities of materials received or used during specified periods in the DWR Maintain a daily pay item quantities of construction activities Ability to work days, nights and weekends as required -- Job Type:
