DESCRIPTION This is work providing technical assistance to computer system users.
Incumbent works with Law Enforcement and other FWC employees to answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from remote locations.
Incumbent is responsible for PCs across the state and may need to travel to various Commission locations to perform duties.
Performs installation and repair of hardware, software, and peripheral equipment such as Law Enforcement bodycams, Smartcop software and aircards, following design or installation specifications.
Responsible for keeping an inventory of computer equipment and software in assigned area.
Assists clients with procedures for surplus computer equipment.
Installs hardware and software; supervise installations of communications hardware, wiring, and services; identify and resolve computer and communication issues; process and track workload using the agency incident management tracking system.
Tests and monitors software, hardware, and peripheral equipment to evaluate use, effectiveness, and adequacy of product for user.
Enters commands and observes system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
Prepares evaluations of software and hardware and submits recommendations to management for review.
May take a lead role in the planning, testing and implementation of major projects under the supervision of management.
Reads technical manuals, confers with users, and conducts computer diagnostics to determine nature of problems and provide technical assistance.
Works directly with hardware and software manufacturers to resolve major problems.
May develop training materials and procedures and conduct training programs.
Prepares administrative and purchasing reports as required.
Reports day-to-day activities to supervisor(s) as required.
Maintains knowledge of hardware and software by reading trade magazines and technical manuals and attends training seminars.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of the Windows 10 and imaging Windows computers; Knowledge of Office Productivity Software, Microsoft Office 365 ; Knowledge of Microsofts Active Directory, Intune, Azure; Knowledge and skills assisting remote mobile users; Knowledge and skills with desktop and/or network security; Knowledge and skills troubleshooting various hardware and software issues; Knowledge and skills assisting users with data integrity; Good communication skills.
