Trial Attorney (Open to Remote)

Compensation Minimum:
$90,200 / yearCompensation Maximum:
$144,500 / yearCompensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.
As the Florida Trial Attorney, you will provide effective legal representation, either personally or by retaining and supervising outside counsel that handles moderately complex litigation involving either the corporation and/or it's insured within established corporate guidelines and the applicable code of professional responsibility.
Litigation includes all aspects of civil litigation, including trials and proceedings in all forums, whether at the local, state or federal level, mediation, arbitration, workers' compensation, and administrative proceedings, and any necessary appellate work.
You will provide legal advice to assist the timely disposition of claims in a fair and equitable manner consistent with relevant statutes and within the guidelines of the company.
You will report to the Legal Manager Primary Accountabilities You will handle litigation involving either the corporation and/or it's insured within established corporate guidelines and the applicable code of professional responsibility.
You will handle files and issues of a more complex nature with higher levels of dollar exposure and requiring less oversight.
You will analyze the file as litigation progresses and risk to insured and the company.
You will conduct discovery (e.
g.
written interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and depositions).
You will conduct motion practice.
You will draft all necessary pleadings, papers and briefs to advance litigation activities at the trial or appellate level.
Conducts necessary research in support of drafting activities.
You will advocate client position in all forums (state and federal court, alternative dispute resolution, administrative tribunals and regulatory hearings) and circumstances, both formal and informal.
You will stay current on state statutes and court decisions and analyzes how statutes and court decisions affect the interpretation and enforceability of the various policy provisions.
You may develop areas of specialty practice (e.
g.
special property, workers compensation, environmental law, commercial coverage).
Qualifications:
Previous trial litigation experience required Experience in First Party Property Litigation Preferred (personal lines and commercial lines) Experience litigating bodily injury lawsuits beneficial Experience in construction defect litigation beneficial Florida license required JD required This position is Full-Time Remote with the successful candidate located within Florida.

Travel RequirementsThis position requires travel up to 50% of the time.
