Research Analyst
Research Analyst with Point72 Asset Management, L.P. (Miami, FL)
Collect and analyze economic statistical data using sampling techniques and econometric methods. Utilize knowledge of economic and accounting principles to interpret economic data and trends. Compile, analyze, and report data to explain economic phenomena and forecast market trends, applying mathematical models, statistical techniques, and software coding. Inform the team s investment strategies through sophisticated financial models. Conduct quantitative analyses of market economic information affecting investments. Advise management on economic trends, attend conferences on the topics of economics and finance, and preform company channel checks. Build relationships with industry contacts, sell-side analysts, and research associates. Conduct research on economic issues.
Position allows for partial remote work (at least 4 days in the office). Reports to company office in Miami, FL.
Requires a Bachelor s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related. Position requires at least 2 years of related experience, which must include some experience or education in each of the following skills:
Valuing biotech companies using net present value, sum of the parts, and comparables analysis and integrating Bloomberg and Visible Alpha formulas IQVIA prescription data and Medispan price data to make pharmaceutical revenue forecasts. Interpreting published medical research and statistical conclusions to make cross trial comparisons. Translating current and proposed pharmaceutical regulation to assess their valuation impact and exposure to the sector and a given company. FDA drug approval process and associated terminology. Communicating research findings to make an investment recommendation, contrasting risk valuations with reward valuations. Financial accounting familiarity and ability to build and interpret a three statement model for a pharmaceutical company. Employer will accept pre- or post-bachelor s experience
