Vice President Marine Operations (Miami, FL) with Bimini SuperFast Operations LLC. Responsible for overall operation of the Marine Operations and Technical Division for Ro-Ro passenger vessel operations of the company. Masters degree in International Shipping or related required plus a minimum 5 years experience as Designated Person Ashore overseeing marine operations for a Ro-Ro passenger operations specializing in short voyages and multiple destinations required. Extensive knowledge of all aspects of ship operations including passenger and cargo operation, crew and immigration requirements, customs regulations, preventative technical maintenance, emergency response to maritime incidents, safety management, and security management required. Experience interacting with port state authorities with respect to regulatory compliance of the vessel and day to day operational, customs, and immigration issues required. Experience with overall supervision of passenger and cargo operations of Ro-Ro passenger vessels required. Certification to conduct safety management systems audits required. Certification as Company Security Officer required. Commercial Ship Master license required. Experience performing safety inspections of Ro-Ro passenger vessels and submitting operational safety reports to top management required. Extensive knowledge of Ro-Ro passenger ship Flag and class as well as knowledge of international shipping regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, MLC), Panama Flag State regulations, Classification regulations on certification and compliance, and local port state regulations including USCG CFR, as well as state regulations related to shipping required. Knowledge of Maritime Law and Marine Insurance required. Experience preparing and submitting incident investigation as well as root cause analysis to create and submit reports to top management and insurance companies required. Knowledge of and experience with the sale and purchase of Ro-Ro passenger vessels required.
