JOB TITLE:
IT Support Technician Position
Summary:
This position includes end-user support, routine maintenance, and infrastructure support.
Description of Duties and Tasks Essential Job Functions (the fundamental job duties, the reason the position exists) o End User Support Diagnosing hardware and software problems On-call when needed Training faculty and staff o Routine Maintenance Installing/configuring new computers/telephones Repairing/upgrading PC and Mac hardware and software Maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies (cables, adapters, etc.
) Undertake the day to day operation of backup systems including rotation of backup tapes o Infrastructure Support Building and installing cables Running plant cabling Documenting systems Other Ergonomic Requirements o Working environment:
An office with a personal computer, server room, repair room o Physical demands:
Running wires in the ceilings Much walking to various offices Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities o Communication skills using speech and writing o Ability to systematically troubleshoot complex problems o Driver s license and vehicle Qualifications/Employment Standards o Bachelor s Degree in a related field o Experience in the field o Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field People Successful in this Position are o Good prioritizers o Enjoy learning new things.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
