Consulting : Manager : HIM Coder Trainer Job - (miami, florida)

As a senior member of the McGladreys National Healthcare consulting practice, you will join professionals with a broad knowledge of the Healthcare industry including:
financial analysis and revenue performance management, regulatory reporting and compliance, and Healthcare IT.
You will be part of a collaborative consulting team to deliver exceptional client service to meet our clients objectives.
The HIM Consulting Manager will also have a basic understanding of the consulting cycle process within the healthcare industry.
As a key contributor he/she will support the building of a world class healthcare practice through listening to client needs, proposal development and presentation of solutions.
Responsibilities :
Train end users in the use of computer assisted coding systems and clinical documentation :
Assist in driving business growth with a strong focus medical record assessments and coding software implementation training service offerings.

Code and audit diagnoses and any necessary procedures for one or more of the following types of medical records:
MS:
DRG and APR:
DRG inpatient, observation, outpatient surgery, Emergency Room, and outpatient clinic :
Training and educating Coders in the use of computer assisted coding software :
Audit Inpatient reports in a pilot environment after training :
Assists with development/revision of coding policies and procedures, audit plans, and compliance plans :
Assist/Develop coder training material for Coding staff :
Assist with the development of HIM/Coding consulting service offerings Basic Qualifications :
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), and/or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) :
Bachelors Degree in a relevant field :
Inpatient coding experience and chart auditing :
Must have knowledge of electronic health record software :
A background in professionally presenting to and educating coding and clinical staff :
Participation in collaborative clinical documentation improvement initiatives :

Expert level knowledge of reimbursement systems, including Prospective Payment System (PPS) and Diagnostic Related Groupings (DRGs); Ambulatory Payment Classifications (APCs); and, Resource:
Based Relative Value Scale (RBRVS) :
Consulting experience related to MS:
DRG audits, RAC audits, or CDI preferred :
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) :
Excellent verbal skills in order to discuss cases with physicians and nurses :
Travel as needed (average 50) Preferred Qualifications :
AHIMA ICD:

CM/PCS Certified Trainer :
Experienced with ICD 9:
10 transition :
Consulting knowledge regarding best practices related to HIM roles and responsibilities and processes :
Experience with Cerner, Meditech, and/or Epic applications :
