Lab Chemist (Miami, FL) to develop an infrastructure which will provide for effective and efficient assaying of precious metals and alloys utilizing knowledge of precious metals and mining business, and understanding of the molecular composure and mixture of various forms of gold, silver and other precious metals. Conduct technical analysis, reporting and refinement of precious metals in accordance with London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) standards. Determine the method of refining, sampling, and assaying materials in a laboratory environment. Direct processing operations that separate the metals from dirt and other impurities. Maintain metallurgical instruments on a rigorous calibration regimen to ensure accuracy, purity, and excellence. Conduct a rolling dense metal confirmation program and regularly analyze statistics to observe any strong correlation between the value of precious metals and the amount of recoverable dense precious metals. Provide technical advice related to metal component, material selection and part design to best meet component design, cost, performance, and quality requirements. Estimate component and tooling costs for capital and product cost planning, as well as give expert advice on a variety of metal working methods. Knowledge & ability to analyze precious metals samples and conduct tests to maintain LBMA certification. Design methods for testing and analyzing different types of samples. Participate in supplier selection and development activities as well as internal meetings. Ensure business operations are in line with the safety policies and procedures. Maintain professional communication and coordination with industry representatives, vendors, and major current and prospective customers. Req. Bachelors degree & 2 yrs exp.
