POSITION
Summary:
The EHS Federal Systems Sr. Manager serves as a key leader in the business with responsibility for environmental, health and safety (EH&S) strategies, policies, standards, compliance, and management initiatives. This leader owns and is accountable for Environmental, Health, & Safety program execution across all of JCI's Federal Business.
Location: Remote/virtual (work from home). Huntsville, AL or Washington D.C. area strongly preferred. Must be able to travel as needed.

JOB DUTIES:
1. Develops and executes strategy for Environmental Health and Safety globally for all Federal operations & activities conducted by JCI and our business partners with JCI enterprise EH&S efforts.
2. Designs and implements policies, processes, and programs in support of the functional and business strategy, as well as applicable governmental regulations.
3. Leads a team of dedicated EHS professionals, responsible for talent development and mentoring related to technical expertise, client interactions, and management skills.
4. Fully understands the business strategies in order to conceptualize, recommend and implement business processes that ensure alignment with the EHS strategy.
5. Provides expert advice to JCI executive team on EHS issues related to the Federal Systems business and regularly reports on EHS and sustainability performance.
6. Conducts global audits/risk assessments/accident investigations which have major implications for the Federal Business. Ensures all incidents are properly reported, investigated and corrective actions developed and implemented
7. Provides applicable EHS interface to customer specific requirement in order to support JCI Federal business across North America, and global regions, including OCONUS.
8. Direct interface with USACE Safety Office (CEHNC) authorized to resolve issues as identified; fosters relationships with key customer's representatives on Environment, Safety & Health
9. Along with Legal team, represents JCI Federal on all Workers Compensation (WC), OSHA and EPA regulatory and litigation issues.
10. Drives management & new process development for USACE-Facing Safety Program including initial data collection, AAPP, APP submittals, SSHO Indoctrination, Audits, Accident Investigations & Organizational Oversight.
11. Developed Startup kits & mentoring for subcontractors SSHO's & National Programs.
12. In conjunction with the fleet organization, leads the driver safety improvement efforts to enable Federal Systems business alignment to JCI program requirements.

Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor's Degree in an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) related field or equivalent; a Master's Degree strongly preferred.
2. 15 or more years experience working with and leading federal Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs, with at least 5 years in a management position preferred. Direct experience in federal business contracting preferred.
3. Must possess at least one of the following Safety-related Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP); Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH); Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
4. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance required. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)
5. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of federal safety standards (EM 385-1-1, NAVFAC, etc) strongly preferred
6. Demonstrated experience and knowledge designing and implementing federal safety programs strongly preferred.
7. Demonstrated experience and knowledge designing and implementing federal safety and environmental programs, and experience with OCONUS safety programs preferred.
