Hold accountability for profitably delivering Herman Miller solutions to assigned accounts and achieving assigned goals for order/shipment volumes as well as margin percentage.
Conduct all sales activities and processes within the parameters of the Herman Miller selling process, utilizing the corporate tools and resources provided.
Develop, grow, and maintain dealer sales in the local market through business development, account management, and dealer sales-focused activities.
Drive business development within the local market and monitor and track opportunities.
Evaluate the performance and activities of the local Sales Team and make adjustments as needed for the effective deployment of personnel.
Hire, develop, and maintain a professional, enthusiastic, competent, and committed Sales staff, as measured by performance results, employee morale, number of Cube Award winners, etc.
Implement effective, strategic, market-specific sales strategy initiatives/plans for the Sales Team and Distribution.
Interface with the Regional Sales Director on the overall regional strategy.
Take part in direct selling activities on strategic opportunities on the front and back ends of sales process.
Maintain assigned account responsibility in addition to sales management responsibilities.
Manage local business activities, including managing the budget, discounting, account planning, and managing relationships with customers, dealers, and, where applicable, A D firms.
Manage Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) information appropriately in order to approve wins and complete monthly forecasts of expected sales volume, etc.
Manage within the assigned expense/program budgets.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Proactively develop and maintain a personal network of Herman Miller can do allies to provide sales support to demonstrate design capabilities, schedule client trips, conduct product presentations, and develop a facility strategy to achieve desired results.
Provide timely, accurate reporting as required by the Regional Sales Director.
Support corporate sales strategies and distribution management in metro areas.

A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. An equivalent level of experience with evidence of ongoing professional development will also be considered.
Five to eight years of successful contract/capital goods selling experience with two or more years of sales leadership experience.
Some knowledge of Herman Miller products, services, and culture, as well as the ability to distinguish Herman Miller products and services from the competition.
Advanced selling skills, including account penetration, strategic selling, conceptual selling, issues-based selling, consultative selling, negotiation, and contracts (closing), as well as ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to collaborate and negotiate.
The ability to be an assertive self-starter with the self-confidence and ability to represent Herman Miller in a professional manner in order to gain a high level of confidence from a diverse group of customers. You'll also need the ability to lead a group of coworkers to work and contribute as a team.
The ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment at all levels of the organization and the ability to build long-term relationships with customers and partners.
A love for new ideas and the ability to generate, explore, and clarify them. You'll also need a passion for the sales process with an understanding of its foundations and a commitment to actively seek opportunities, calculate risk, and commit to action.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
