You are a creative star at a top ad agency or maybe in-house at a major global consumer brand. You are a natural creative leader and collaborative team-player. You excel at building consensus around innovative ideas as well as manage and inspire the creative process, direct reports and vendors needed to bring your ideas to life. You may not have experience in the travel/hospitality industry, but that's OK your uncanny ability to listen and quickly grasp a brand's essence will more than make up for it.
Position Overview
The Creative Director will lead creative development across marketing channels and across the CCL organization. Ensure the highest level of aesthetics and consistency in telling our brand narrative across channels, and serve as the subject matter expert in storytelling and production technologies/techniques. They will work with various content producers building a central creative hub and a network of high quality, cost-effective freelancers and agencies.
Create and optimize assets for national and regional display, emails and eCommerce to drive targeted bookings. Balance the need for telling our brand story and driving engagement and conversion, specifically direct online. Support A/B testing and personalization with sufficient versions and quick iterations.
Create and optimize assets to support the direct mail program to achieve the targeted bookings. Keep informed on the latest technology to drive prospects from offline to online and to drive down print and distribution costs while increasing traffic and bookings.
Manage the production of brand assets such as destination and ship photography, b-roll, first person point-of-view video to ensure a sufficient library of assets that project the cruise experience to meet the requirements of marketing, trade, operations, etc.
Serve as the subject matter expert on story telling while working with content producers to create videos and images that tell the CCL narrative or that entertain with light CCL message integration
Develop the brand naming and visual identity for new ship experiences. Ensure the brand names and visuals sit well together under the master brand.
Support all of on-board marketing's creative needs, specifically around naming, visual identity and templates (e.g. signage, menus.) Ensure that the collateral delivers on the creative brief while remaining consistent in voice and aesthetic with the rest of the marketing collateral. Deliver by leveraging the internal team and external freelancers as the demand requires. Develop templates to help on-board marketing be self-sufficient wherever appropriate (e.g. signage and menu templates).
Support all of trade's creative needs for collateral that will be provided to end-consumers. Ensure that the collateral delivers on the creative brief while remaining consistent in voice and aesthetic with the rest of the marketing collateral.
Help develop the brand guidelines to meet the requirements across channels and areas (e.g. operations and trade), and ensure consistent use of the guidelines within and outside of marketing.
Develop team ensuring the highest quality output, and manage expenses against budget continuously seeking efficiencies.
Develop web content about itineraries, destinations, ships, product, travel tips, food/drink tips, etc. that not only inspire and inform but also support the search engine optimization efforts to rank high for targeted generic key words. Ensure the copy is in the Carnival voice and is kept up-to-date to feature all the new offerings including new programming and partners. Ensure the copy incorporates the targeted key words effectively to impact search ranking but is still written/read in natural language and in the Carnival voice.
Qualifications:

years experience preferred
Experience in building and managing a creative team.
Exceptional aesthetic sense in projecting the brand image via imagery, design and copy. A strong storytelling sense that captures and maintains the audience's attention and keeps it thru the end.
