Summary:
Using Advanced understanding and knowledge of Engineering principles and methods, investigates, inspects, and interprets evidence of property damage and/or equipment failure for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings and sites, etc. determining origin and cause.
Essential Functions: (must be performed with or without accommodations)
Acts as a professional mentor and advisor to Engineers in the conduct of investigations
Inspects assigned buildings and sites as prescribed by company policy and industry standards
Documents existing site conditions using scaled sketches and/or diagrams, measurements, collection of evidence, and photographic documentation, as appropriate
Utilizes appropriate engineering survey, monitoring, and measuring equipment
Utilizes excellent interview skills with points of contact to obtain background / historical information
Researches a variety of technical issues using codes, standards, technical papers, text books, handbooks, internet, etc.
Analyzes available data, develops conclusions, and drafts technical reports
Responsible for appropriate handling of records of assignments, referrals, follow-up with Claims Adjusters, interviews with property owners, witnesses, etc.
Promotes and provides superior customer service and responsiveness to customer needs
Completes all forensic investigations in a timely manner. Provides written reports that are clear and concise, written in a manner that conforms to EFI Global policies and industry standards
Promotes EFI Global capabilities to expand business opportunities with client companies
Sustains current knowledge of approved forensic engineering investigation practices
Meets or exceeds productivity levels as determined by Branch Manager / District Manager

Responsibilities:
May train Engineers in the investigative processes and standard practices established by EFI GLOBAL
Complies with company and OSHA safety standards and use of personal protection equipment
Provides expert testimony at mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and/or trials, as necessary
Complies with all company policies and procedures
Demonstrates appropriate investigative skills
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions:
70% Field Work / 30% Office Work
Exposure to all types of weather conditions
Walking and climbing to inspect multi-story residential, industrial, and commercial buildings and sites;
Lifting, as required (not in excess of 30 pounds)
Educational/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or University
Has a minimum of 8 years of forensic investigation experience and be certified as a Professional Engineer (PE)
Applies comprehensive engineering knowledge toward the completion of complex assignments, in the assigned area of engineering specialty

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
