FiveHundred Degrees is seeking a proofreader with 4
years of experience to join the creative services department.
Responsibilities:
Proofread and edit a wide variety of internal and client deliverables.
Maintain client copy style guides.
Assist when needed for copy suggestions/revisions.
Utilize standard proofreader marks.
Reference AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style and Webster's II Dictionary.
Requirements:
Possess strong command of the English language, spelling, grammar and usage.
Must operate with outstanding attention to detail, and be thorough, flexible, organized and able to meet deadlines.
Bachelor's Degree in English or Journalism is preferred.
Retail print circular and/or catalog experience is a plus.
Agency experience, including the use of an online PDF-based routing system, a plus.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
