The Staff R&D Product Development Engineerwill be responsible for:
Aspectsof the product design and development of a project with a focus on innovativeimplantable medical devices that address the customer needs for a completeprocedural solution.
Workwithin a cross-functional project team through all phases of the productdevelopment process, planning and executing projects through the productlaunch.
Workclosely with members of the project core team (marketing, manufacturing,quality, etc.) and surgeons to define user needs, generate design concepts andprototypes, perform design evaluations (such as tolerance analysis, FEA, DOE's,simulated use testing, etc.), and support development of product and processvalidation plans and testing.
Plans,develops, coordinates, and directs a large important engineering project or anumber of small complex projects and carries out complex or novel assignmentsrequiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.
Applya diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areasof assignments and makes decisions independently on engineering problems andmethods.
Demonstratesa full understanding in the application of design controls and developmentprocesses, and has the ability to prioritize tasks and manage a variedworkload, exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills and interfaceeffectively with others in the project team.
Developan expert knowledge of our product lines and detailed knowledge of variousanatomies and pathologies.
ABachelor Degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering witha minimum of eight years of related engineering experience; or an advanceddegree with a minimum of six years of related engineering experience; or Ph.D.in relevant discipline and four or more years of related engineering experienceis required.
Newproduct development experience in medical devices is preferred.
Experience with complex level engineeringprojects is required
Experiencedin product design, process development, device testing or prototyping isrequired.
Experiencecollaborating with physician users during design and development and experiencewith pre-clinical animal models is preferred.
Masteryof theoretical and practical fundamentals and experimental engineeringtechniques is required.
Thecandidate is required to work independently on assigned project activities in across functional team environment.
Thisposition is located in Miami, FL and requires up to 10% travel domesticallywith the potential for international travel.
