Duties are but not limited to:
Coordinates administration of the office of the Chief to ensure smooth flow of operations. Keep the calendar of the Chief and Assistant Chief of Engineering. Screens requests for appointments to determine if any other staff members are involved or may be able to resolve problem with referral to the chief. Maintains the files and directives library making necessary changes when needed. Makes distribution of manual and other directives to subordinate's section of the service. Maintains a working level of forms, office supplies and material needed for administrative operations. Responds to requests for information concerning service functions anticipating needs for information by preparing materials. Reviews documents prepared for signature for conformance to regulations, format, local policy and other requirements. Maintains the time and attendance records. Decides whether important or emergency matters should be brought to the chief's attention. Assists staff subordinate to the Chief in the procedural aspects of expediting the work of the service. Refers call and visitors to other appropriate engineering Service Section or other areas of the medical center as required. Receives visitors and telephone calls to the chief and assistant chief and their staff. Makes necessary arrangements for travel by making reservation and notifying organization and officials to be visited. Take minutes from several committee meetings. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note:

Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Responding to requests for information concerning service functions and anticipating the need for information; Managing executive's calendar, scheduling appointments and conferences; including such matters as making arrangements for locations, time, date, preparation of agenda, making an attendance list, and acting as a recorder at such conferences and meetings, as well as preparing minutes of the sessions and obtaining proper signatures. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
